hello there and welcome to another episode of the Cannabis man podcast thanks for clicking on the show I'm your
0:07
host Don Kleppin and I wanted to get this episode out to you as quickly as I could it's going to be on the shorter side
0:12
just a heads up listener but it's because an interview came together rather quickly yesterday I recorded that
0:17
on March 18th I'm recording this now March 19th because there's an event coming up on the south side of Chicago
0:23
later this week Thursday the 23rd and it's kind of a unique sounding event it was put together by a local artist and
0:30
cannabis professional named Metro black he's from the Bronzeville area and he's been working alongside cannabis
0:37
professionals and he's been building his own career as an artist for the last few years and now he's putting on this
0:43
experience later this week that's kind of a concert alongside a cannabis party
0:49
and it sounds like there's going to be some great Vibes there and there are still some tickets available not many but I wanted to get this out to you as
0:55
soon as possible so that if you're interested in this like I am you'd have a chance to go grab some of those tickets while there's still some left I
1:01
do have some news joint stories to get to you as well and another topic that I thought was worth your attention but uh
1:08
yeah let's get into this 43rd episode of the Cannabis man podcast
1:14
thank you
1:28
[Music]
1:35
[Music]
1:50
[Music] yeah and let's roll on listener into the
1:56
news joint wrap that's right this is the section of the show every week if it's your first time listening where I gather
2:02
local news stories and events coming up around Illinois related to cannabis and it's all curated by Illinois
2:08
newsjoint.com think of it as the joint you can hit for all your Illinois Cannabis News and reviews and let's
2:13
start with two Illinois bills that are targeting cannabis funds these are two house bills and they offer drastically
2:18
different targets for cannabis funds HB 1189 offers the excess money from the
2:24
compassionate use of medical cannabis fund to medical patients meanwhile sb1969 would increase the percentage of
2:31
money from the Cannabis regulation fund and redirect that money to a fund under the control of the sheriff HB 1189
2:38
sponsored by friend of the show Representative Bob Morgan it will amend the compassionate use of medical
2:44
cannabis program act and would refund money back to registered medical cannabis patients in Illinois the bill
2:51
provides that if there is an amount in excess of 12 million five hundred thousand dollars in the compassionate
2:57
use of medical cannabis fund on the effective date of the amendatory act the state treasurer shall so certify to the
3:03
Department of Public Health and the state controller and the Department of Public Health shall certify to the controller the names and addresses as
3:10
well as any other necessary information of all medical cannabis patients who made any medical cannabis product
3:15
purchase in the 180-day period preceding the effective date of the amendatory act the bill was moved to the rules
3:22
committee on January 3rd meanwhile SB 1969 sponsored by Senator Steve McClure
3:27
amends the state finance act that bill quote increases the percentage of monies that are transferred from the Cannabis
3:34
regulation funds to the local government distributive fund provides that money allocated to counties under those
3:40
Provisions shall be directed to a fund under the control of the sheriff this bill was referred to assignment February
3:46
9th you can find more information about those at Illinois newsjoint.com so those
3:52
are two Two Bills currently moving through the Illinois legislature and both of them have very different approaches as to what to do with some
3:59
excess funds that may or may not be existing in Illinois's medical cannabis program right now and I know which way
4:06
my vote would go if anybody were asking me that would be to the former the house bill that returns money to Illinois
4:12
medical cannabis patients I would love to see some of that happen uh moving on terabis is set to open its first
4:18
dispensary in Illinois this spring terabis that would be t-e-r-r-a-b-i-s is set to open its
4:25
newest retail location in Grayville Illinois the new dispensary will be near 64 at exit 130 on Kohler Road full
4:32
building remodeling has begun and will include new exterior finishes and expansive and welcoming Lobby multiple
4:38
checkout stations and prospective plans for an on-site consumption Lounge in the future love that the adult use
4:44
dispensary expects to bring 30 to 40 jobs to the local community founder Dan ambrosino who currently lives in Chicago
4:50
hey hey says terabis started as an idea shared among friends and has now become one of the midwest's leading retailers
4:57
of medical and recreational Cannabis products terribus is a privately held multi-state cannabis operator
5:02
headquartered in Missouri where they have five existing dispensary locations
5:08
and a product manufacturing facility so get excited for some more competition in the legal cannabis industry entering the
5:14
Illinois space that would be terabis and if you're in the Grayville Illinois area something to keep an eye out for in the
5:21
future very exciting stuff and if you're interested in either one of those two stories and of course more about news
5:27
regarding cannabis or events coming up around Illinois just head to Illinois news joint.com oh and speaking of new
5:33
cannabis operations have you started your home grow cannabis operation yet if
5:39
you haven't let me tell you one of the quickest ways to ruin that Harvest is by using subpar genetic material so if
5:46
you're thinking about starting a home grow and you want the highest quality genetics for your seeds to start with as
5:51
you should because it's going to make your job easier let me introduce you to my friends at deep space Creations LLC
5:58
Matt Ross started the company years ago after growing his own cannabis for Years Learning some lessons and finding out
6:04
firsthand just how important high quality genetics are and he decided to start an operation where he'd be able to
6:10
supply some of the best quality seeds to those looking if you've heard of or tried the strain chem de la chem you are
6:18
already familiar with the excellent quality of Matt Ross's work at deep space creations and they have many more
6:24
in their stock just like that you can head on over to Neptune seed bank or Alpha seed bank and you can search for
6:30
deep space Creations LLC or you can find Matt Ross and the guys on Instagram at
6:36
deep space Creations underscore LLC and there's a link right in their profile to
6:41
take you to Neptune seed bank and you can get some of those seeds right there but if you're going to start a home grow you've got to start with high quality
6:48
genetics and there's no higher quality genetics and cannabis seeds than what they've got over at deep space Creations
6:54
listener welcome back my guest today is uh cannabis entrepreneur of sorts he
7:01
definitely works heavily in the Cannabis industry around Chicago and uh he plays a few different roles has a couple of
7:07
different hats uh he was born on Chicago's West Side he moved at some point to the Bronzeville neighborhood
7:13
and took the name Metro black as a tribute to his upbringing in Bronzeville he's a cannabis professional as a
7:20
wholesale account exec in the Illinois legal cannabis market for over three years which has allowed him to live and
7:25
work in his passions of cannabis while honoring his passion for music and Performing and event planning and he's
7:30
here today to talk a little about one of those events that are coming up next week actually or later this week I
7:36
suppose when this gets published but this would be the Metro black experience which is coming to the Promontory March
7:42
23rd and running from 7 P.M to 1am and we're gonna get some more details about this very exciting event right now from
7:49
the man himself Metro black welcome Metro yo yo Don I'm happy to be here
7:54
with you my friend thank you so much for stopping by really appreciate it and I'm very much looking forward to finding out
8:00
about this experience now I just want to make sure I had that introduction right you were born on the west side and
8:05
you've now moved to Bronzeville and that's kind of where you came up with the Metro black moniker yes so we'll
8:11
still actually live in Bronzeville and uh it was an area known as the black metropolis and uh back way way back in
8:19
and uh 50 60 in that time and even before that but um that's where I got my
8:25
name from uh I just uh switched the order and I took the K off outside right
8:30
on yeah the black is uh Blac for anybody interested and uh I'm wondering so this
8:36
event this experience the Metro black experience coming up at the Promontory later this week how did you it's it says
8:42
there as I mentioned in the intro you've been in the legal cannabis industry on the wholesale side of it for a while but
8:48
you then sort of got into this event planning and making these experiences is working with Bud tenders working with
8:54
dispensaries and it really sounds like you're kind of putting together uh these cool parties where a lot of different
9:00
people from a lot of different Industries and related to cannabis are coming together is is that is coming
9:05
together to mix it up definitely yeah definitely right yeah for sure the
9:11
events planning and and just entertaining and and music came before working in cannabis but once I got got
9:19
into the industry and I saw like uh a need a need for people in the community
9:25
who understand the community to be able to commune together but not only commune together not not just indulge and and
9:32
get zomped out but indulge in five and network and build and see some cool things and experiences some cool things
9:40
at an elevated level yeah and and it sounds like that is uh it sounds like that's exactly what's awaiting people at
9:46
this particular event now I I just gonna go through a couple of the details uh it's billed as a concert experience
9:53
coming to the Promontory and what's mentioned is you know live performances as well as this travel agent Vape bar
9:59
can you talk a little about the performance and then sort of um this the The Vape bar the travel agent what kind
10:05
of um you know products are going to be there for people to try so the uh the performance uh I am I am opening up for
10:13
Round Street and special guest so God Cooks at the promissory the Promontory
10:18
is a very very very well-known uh hip-hop venue in the south side of
10:24
Chicago it's just known for bringing uh acts to the area that you would would
10:30
just be happy to see how I can walk to the pharmacy wait uh is that Rome Street is that so God Cooks is that Metro black
10:36
uh and I figured I would build my own experience in being able to support
10:42
these major artists so in doing that the Metro black experience encompasses me
10:47
performing on stage and a travel agent Vape bar that I'm hosting there will be
10:53
three signature cocktails with terpenes spelled out as to the flavors you'd be
11:00
able to taste on the balcony of the Promontory during the time of show wow that that sounds really awesome okay so
11:07
there's a balcony at this venue Promontory sounds awesome on the south side of Chicago there's going to be a
11:12
concert going on with you Metro black as well as Rome streets and as you mentioned stove God Cooks as well which
11:19
is awesome and then cocktails you mentioned there are terpene profiles so are these cannabis drinks no no no no uh
11:25
The Vape bar it's uh have you ever heard of the zinco machine yes yeah those are
11:30
like they're like the glass cups that like a glass cup that fills up with like Vape from the bottom right yes yes yes
11:37
odorless Vape bar so uh there'll be bartenders a AKA Bud tenders there to uh
11:44
guide people through the process of getting that zenco demo seeing how they work uh we're also gonna have zencos
11:50
available for sale at the event with a discount with your purchase of tickets so oh that is awesome let me say because
11:59
I have tried some of these encos before I didn't know that was the name of them but I really I love the the glass sort
12:05
of like the just it's like a sculpture and you can watch The Vape kind of form at the bottom so there's an anticipatory
12:11
experience too kind of like when you watch a bartender make a good cocktail and you're just sitting there thinking about how good it's going to be and you
12:17
watch it come together it's really cool to watch these glass fixtures fill up with sort of Vape at the bottom and I've
12:22
seen people either just kind of you know throw them back I guess like a shot I've seen people kind of use straws like
12:28
plastic or paper straws to kind of get the Vape out of the glass but it's really the places I've gone they weren't
12:33
selling these zencos they were just there to sample you guys are actually selling these uh at the Promontory
12:40
because uh of my affiliation with Cinco and uh travel agents the travel agent uh
12:47
is like the coolest thing they do the coolest thing with the bars they're always seeing they're always is a fun
12:53
time they're always an experience so I'm very excited to work with them but because of my relationship with zinco I
12:59
asked them if for the less the cost of the general admission ticket which is 35
13:06
could I sell zencos at the rate of 215.
13:11
so if you bought a ticket to the show you get 35 off that Zen code unit and you can go home with it on that day for
13:17
215 got it okay that makes perfect sense thank you very much for for clearing that up so it's basically like you buy a
13:25
ticket to this event and you go out you have a wonderful time at the Promontory you listen to a great concert you're
13:30
you're picking up on the vibe you're trying these different cannabis products and if you're really in love with these
13:35
zenco vaporizer you know sort of glasses these glass Vapes kind of things like I
13:41
have been you get a discount you can buy a zenco at the venue and your ticket
13:46
price gets discounted off the zenko price is that fair that is fair sir that is fair that sounds awesome that that
13:53
sounds very exciting I I can't wait to uh to check this out it looks like um there in addition to the zenko um a
14:01
purchase of a ticket to the show there are some other packages here that it looks like there are some other goodies
14:06
people can get so uh the overall Metro black experience so uh if you are to go
14:12
to the link that you will find on my Instagram at
14:18
b-t-h-e-m-e-t-r-o-b-l-a-c that's D Metro black on Instagram you'll find a link that you can hit and it'll go to a group
14:26
of tickets there's a platinum level a gold level and a phase level the sage
14:31
level gets you a 420 goody gift and a promo t-shirt inside of a Metro black uh
14:39
tote bag that's at the sage level the gold level gets you the same Metro black tote bag promo T 420 goodies but a black
14:47
card that's a no line no limit at the zinco station because there is a land we
14:52
don't want to over consume we don't want to have people over consumed but I know people who are in tune with with me and
14:59
what are how my events come off uh might want to go back and if you do this that
15:04
would be a good package for you but if you are looking to take home a zenco Duo on the day of the show uh you would want
15:11
to get the Platinum package you'll get everything you get in the stage and the gold uh you'll get that special black
15:17
card no line no limit at the zenco uh station over at The Vape bar but you'll also take home that zinco duo for a flat
15:24
rate of 200 after you purchase that ticket before the show wow that is
15:30
fantastic and and I gotta say it's as you mentioned in the email invite here obviously space is limited at this event
15:37
and I have to imagine that by this point you guys have sold a good amount of tickets so I know that space is filling
15:43
up so listener go ahead and uh as as Metro just mentioned uh you can you can
15:49
find that link at your Instagram page what was the the address one more time Metro the address to the venue is 5311
15:56
South Lake Park Avenue uh that and that's in Chicago Illinois perfect that
16:02
that's fantastic and so is there just out of curiosity is there uh a link that people can buy tickets at for the show
16:08
through your Instagram page yes there is you will find that link in my bio you will also find that link in the uh
16:15
travel agent Instagram bio uh their Instagram is at TRV agent TRV agent Okay
16:25
cool so those are two options for your listener to go right now and grab some tickets here and you have a couple of
16:31
different price points you got a couple of different packages to choose from but I gotta say for my money it sounds like
16:36
that Platinum experience is fantastic to to walk away with one of those zenco Duos I think would make uh any event
16:42
worth it but this one sounds like it's going to be an amazing Vibe on the south side of Chicago hopefully a nice spring
16:48
night at the Promontory on a balcony it looks like a 59 degrees yeah exactly
16:53
which I I don't know where you're listening from listener but let me tell you 59 degrees in March in Chicago is
16:58
celebration worthy let me tell you where am I going to be in short yes 100 it
17:04
might be me uh because it is it's been feeling like that this weekend when we're recording this it's the last gasp
17:10
of winter it's about you know five degrees outside right now so 59 sounds tropical to me and uh a balcony and a
17:16
concert happening with some sweet Vapes and some cool people around sounds like a great way to spend an evening so this
17:22
is March 23rd Thursday and it starts at seven o'clock and again it's at the Promontory and this is all put together
17:28
by Metro black who uh who you've been here in conjunction with uh covert Ops
17:33
uh covert Ops puts on uh these great great shows around the the world uh and
17:39
they've allowed me to bring this experience as as an opportunity to see if we can take it to other places around
17:45
the world so uh please do come out and be a part of a first-time experience in a in a very well known video that's
17:51
awesome all right so you got your marching orders listener and and Metro thank you so much for stopping by today and kind of sharing a little bit about
17:58
um what this event is and kind of who you are and what people can expect at these things I like to wrap these up
18:03
with just some quick hits if you don't mind I like to ask your favorite you know um movies and music and stuff like that I got about five of them are you
18:09
are you game for this yeah let's do it all right great uh first quick hit I ask is morning bird or night owl which are
18:15
you uh I am an all-day guy and my wife will attest to that I wake up at 444 every day and I can go until two if you
18:22
need me to and still wake up at the same time 444 every day 4 444 man I got up at
18:28
3 45 this morning because I do morning radio on some Chicago station and my
18:33
shift starts at like five or something I could not imagine doing that I couldn't do that every day it is I can only do it
18:40
like the once a week and I I sleep for like a day afterwards yeah I actually interned in radio for
18:47
about a year and a half and I was on the morning show so I I think that's partly where it comes from
18:54
the morning drive dude so like being on the morning drive like getting there as far as is in place to get the DJs ready
19:02
exactly exactly no so so you were getting up at like 2 33 o'clock like I was doing that thing man that is dude
19:10
right on all right cool hey a fellow radio guy I love it that's that's awesome man uh next quick hit uh what do
19:15
you like to eat if it's a rather whether a Cuisine or a restaurant you like to go to if you're trying to if you're
19:20
celebrating something uh the uh the Metro black experience at the Promontory was wildly successful and on Friday
19:26
night you're gonna go celebrate where Where Are You Gonna Go My mom's mac and cheese fake mac and cheese it's like
19:31
that's the go-to oh man that sounds that sounds we celebrate the wind is
19:38
oh that sounds wonderful if you got a good option at Mom's house uh that's always a win in my book um all right a
19:45
substance of choice I ask all my guests this uh you know cannabis is obviously big for both of us but you know do you lean on coffee in the morning are you a
19:52
tea drinker you like wine or beers late at night I love tea my favorite tea comes from
19:58
steep Leaf teas uh I love their watermelon mojito it's amazing nice steep leaf tea all right yes watermelon
20:05
Instagram as well speak least number four quick hit what do you like to watch like uh TVs movies and if you're trying
20:12
to if it's something you love that you anytime you see it on TV you'll leave it on or that if you're looking to feel a
20:18
certain way anytime you put this on it'll get you there what do you like to watch
20:24
oh man I'm watching right now that is hitting me okay The Last of Us is uh
20:31
giving me Vibes right now yup yup it's giving me bad vibes right now yeah that's the best it's the best thing on
20:37
TV other things but we're not we're not far enough in their Seasons yet for me
20:43
to say that the last of us uh it's got me thinking about uh it's made me work harder to be in safe I'll tell you that
20:50
right on dude right on yeah doesn't it yeah I'm like I'm like how many people
20:55
could really run three five miles to get their food if they had to not many I'll tell you what man people
21:03
there's a lot of people in Chicago that uh as much as as much as we love food in this town they're not making that trip
21:09
if uh if push comes to shove that's that's true yeah if they got to do it by foot it's not happening yet so it's
21:15
half of us is that I really put a few things in perspective for that's that's a great great drop I love The Last of Us
21:21
at listener it just finished up if you haven't watched it HBO it is fantastic play the games too if you're a gamer
21:27
those are the story's amazing so it's worth your time and then uh for the show comes from the game you played the games
21:34
too Metro yes yes yes yes dude right on man I I love this I just played the
21:39
first one again before the season came out just to refresh the story and didn't they do a great job man it was amazing
21:44
like the beginnings of like how they got into the the story lines yeah they did the the stuff that they added that
21:51
wasn't in the game but but kind of helped build up the world a little bit like that pilot episode where they're
21:57
they're having the talk show and the scientist when she went to Indonesia to find the source of the infection that
22:02
stuff was awesome you know and then yeah that was amazing yeah they they showed some good they built the world up they
22:07
added to what the games did it was it was wonderful uh and then final quick hit uh question for you Metro uh let's
22:13
go sports team what do you uh you a football guy do you like baseball what what is a team that uh if it's NCAA
22:19
right now March Madness happening who do you watch and you know who do you like to support so listen I win a day and age
22:25
where it's really hard to support a team because everybody's going to get their money and I don't blame them you should yeah uh but after LeBron James is on
22:32
nothing else matters I I get that and you know something what's what that's a great Point Metro I'm glad you said that
22:37
I've talked with people about LeBron even on this show too and I I gotta say I'm you know I I remember watching MJ
22:44
I'm old enough to to have been able to see him when I was a kid and that that was amazing but LeBron there's something
22:50
weird with the media where LeBron this year passed um Alcindor was it look Kareem
22:56
Abdul-Jabbar he passed Kareem's scoring record and it was like nobody even made a big deal about it it was like over
23:02
yeah we make everything casual fun everything is casual it's got it oh yeah
23:09
that I I I I kind of noticed that myself this year for the first time because like I said I mean I admittedly I
23:16
haven't paid too close attention just a lot of press man he gets a lot of pressure and understandables like you
23:22
get sick of seeing it like it's the same thing with Tom Brady like if you're not a Tom Brady guy you like why do I always
23:27
not hear about Tom Brady yeah you know like totally But like after this and when everybody downplayed I'm like how
23:34
do you see like it's not fair but when you're great they hold you to a certain criteria I get it yeah that's it
23:40
absolutely true I think once you've once you show how great you are it's just you're measured differently you're
23:45
you're on a different Stratosphere and LeBron certainly is and and you know more power to the guy the guy he's the he's the all-time leading scorer in NBA
23:52
history or not right now he's got you know that record will probably stand forever and now he's just holding out to play with his son to be the only person
23:59
to like ever do that 100. for me he's a lesson he's a lesson in how to uh use
24:05
your opportunity to make sure others get theirs um well said absolutely the work that
24:11
he's done with the school I think his his Film Production Company he's done so so much work to give people
24:16
opportunities and to bring you know contents and just experiences I think people Elevate people's lives in
24:22
different ways it's unbelievable it really is yeah yeah that's definitely uh why why that that would be the answer
24:28
number five well hey that's that's a good answer and and a good a good time it sounds like is going to be had by
24:34
everybody at the Promontory on Thursday the 23rd at the Metro black experience thank you so much Metro for uh I got a
24:41
ticket for you too bro so definitely uh oh dude you got it I'll be there thank
24:47
thank you so much my man I I really appreciate it and I'll see you at the show thank you
24:54
[Music] and there you have it listener one more
25:00
time if you're interested in getting some tickets to the Metro black experience at the Promontory on March
25:06

25:12
Metro black and there's a link to buy some of those tickets in his profile as he mentioned you can also go to uh TRV
25:19
agent on Instagram and there's a link there as well to get some of those tickets but they are going fast and I'm
25:26
very much looking forward to this event so I hope to see you there one final note before I let you go this week listener uh there was an article that
25:33
came out March 16th here and it was after a Kansas Committee hearing
25:38
Republicans put a medical cannabis bill on hold and the quote out of this
25:43
hearing is don't Colorado our Kansas the article was published at
25:49
ksnt.com by Rebecca Chung on March 16th headline I won't read the whole thing
25:55
but it starts with Kansas lawmakers have put a hold on a medical marijuana bill after hearings wrapped Thursday morning
26:01
Republicans in the Senate federal and state affairs committee voted to table Senate Bill 135 both Democrats on the
26:08
committee voted against the move one of the quotes here from Senator Alicia Straub of Ellenwood she's a republican
26:14
uh one of the things that stuck out she goes quote and concerning the testimony especially that we heard today I feel
26:20
like we really need to protect our children and I don't believe that we're ready to work this today and quote the
26:26
move means that no further discussion or action will be taken for the year lawmakers in the committee could
26:31
potentially decide to bring the bill back up to work on this year but for now it will not progress unless further
26:37
action is taken this comes after lawmakers wrapped up two back-to-back hearings on the bill the testimony even
26:43
caused one Republican senator to change their tune that would be Senator Rick cluse of Barrington he says quote today
26:49
I am no longer a proponent I am an opponent the reason is that because of
26:54
the knowledge and all that we've been given I did not know the effects of what this medicinal marijuana could have on
27:01
an individual end quote Senators heard from opponents on Thursday this include Law Enforcement Officers Health
27:07
officials and Republican state leaders does this sound like a dare Education meeting to anybody else some believe
27:14
there could be issues with mental health and addiction that come from use of marijuana others point to potential
27:19
issues with law enforcement and quote the black market one final quote that I'll read here that that stuck out to me
27:25
listener is from Tony mativi I believe director of the Kansas Bureau of Investigation obviously an agent here he
27:32
spoke about as the article notes here he spoke about the impact this could have on children's mental health citing
27:39
studies from another opponent of medical cannabis Dr Eric Voth and this is a quote from a TV here the thing that he
27:46
sent me that was the most persuasive was a study that showed the link between increased THC use in our adolescence and
27:53
mental illness mativi said quote if there's one thing that I think we can all agree on is that we don't want to
27:59
facilitate access by our kids to something that is going to adversely impact their mental health so that's the
28:05
end of the quote and and that's all I'm going to read from the article but the reason that I thought this was worth bringing to your attention is because
28:11
Kansas just table the bill to allow medical cannabis in their state and they
28:20
did so because of these studies that are showing links between high THC products
28:26
and developments of mental illness or some symptoms like psychosis and some of these things that we've talked about on
28:33
the show high THC is really presenting some problems here for legal cannabis
28:38
and this is something that we are going to have to suss out but this this stuff
28:44
isn't happening in a vacuum these studies that are being done like the one that I talked with Matt wall about that
28:51
talks about you know some of the issues that THC has as what's buried in these discussions is that CBD offers a
28:58
perfectly safe shield against the problems that THC can cause and I would
29:04
also point out that if these companies that are legally allowed to sell cannabis if these companies weren't
29:10
allowed to inflate the THC percentages of their products whether the THC is
29:17
actually 35 or it's just labeled at 35 percent that's a question in and of
29:23
itself but another thing here is that companies are being incentivized to create high THC products why are they
29:30
being incentivized how are they because they can charge premiums for high THC products I've talked about this on the
29:36
show before it's not a hard concept to understand you don't have to make that much of a leap to get that when a
29:43
company sees they can charge more for a high THC product they're going to invest in selling and making high THC products
29:51
and now we see these studies where they're like like well hey guess what high THC products can be problematic especially if it's consumed by
29:58
adolescents and repeatedly there are proven links now between some mental
30:03
illnesses and high THC products this is a problem but it's a problem with a
30:08
clear solution and the solution is let's get away from these high THC isolates
30:14
and let's keep the healthy protective CBD as a part of our cannabis products
30:19
that is what I say is the answer to this problem and denying the citizens of Kansas access to medical cannabis does
30:27
not seem to me like an acceptable solution because won't somebody please think of the children this is just kind
30:33
of another one of those we we see now again I've talked about this on the show listener if it's your first time
30:38
definitely go back and check out some old episodes but I have said many many times here the stigma around Reefer
30:45
Madness the stigma of the 1900s and the prohibition of cannabis and the first
30:50
drug czar and the first FBI and all the racism and fear-mongering and all that propaganda that's wrapped up in Reefer
30:57
Madness that stigma is still alive and well today and you can see live in real
31:04
time these actions that these Republicans are taking and they're using these figures
31:10
they're using these studies that are looking into what cannabis can do and
31:15
what it shouldn't do and all that the conclusion to finding out that high THC is dangerous is not to just table a bill
31:23
that would allow medical cannabis the solution is to say okay we're not going to allow high THC products in our state
31:30
it's going to be CBD alongside of it or it's going to be low THC that you cap it at 10 so that you know that there's
31:36
still some CBD in those products so I I just wanted to point this out because we're going to be seeing more of this
31:43
and it's not just Kansas that is going to start bringing up these studies that are showing the links between high THC
31:50
and and mental illnesses this is something we're going to be hearing more of over the next few years as the opponents of this legalization Movement
31:57
try and find ammo for their counter-attacks of the momentum that we
32:03
feel all of us proponents of legal cannabis the momentum that we all feel they are still fighting to live in the
32:10
world of the last century and I I am just tired of that myself but that's what I wanted to share with you and
32:15
something to keep an eye out for I guess there's no medical cannabis coming for Kansas anytime soon just another reason
32:21
I'm so thrilled to be living here in the great City of Chicago in the great state of Illinois love my life right now and I
32:27
love being able to imbibe in legal cannabis and listener I hope you're able to enjoy it just as much as I am because
